The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a new EU law coming into effect on the 25th of May 2018 that requires all websites to be SSL secure or risk facing fines.
How this works
- SSL gives your site the padlock or green browser bar, reassuring visitors they’re safe on your site.
- Google prefers secure sites so it helps to increase your search engine ranking (SEO).
- 85% of shoppers online are known to abandon a shopping cart when they realise the website is not secure.
- Starting later in 2018, every website has to use https, or website browsers (IE/Chrome/Firefox) will start to throw warnings to users.
How we can help!
At Nexus Websites we are proud to say that for the last seven years we have not increased our prices. However an SSL certificate is a small cost to us annually and one we have no choice but to pass onto our customers.
Therefore if you would like an SSL certificate installed and maintained and you are already an existing customer. Please contact us!
