Managing Shipping

Managing ShippingChanging your shipping settings are going to be important for you to ensure you’re not paying out of your own pocket. There are various settings on shipping you can activate and below is a breakdown of each one. By clicking the green icon, you are enabling that shipping module and you can use multiple shipping settings – see below.

Managing ShippingFlat Rate

Flat rate is simply a flat rate. Whatever you have in your shopping cart, you will only be charged a flat rate.

Free Shipping

Managing Shipping

This module can be used simultaneously alongside any other shipping module. You set the module up to charge free shipping once a customer has a certain value of items in their cart. A good example would be free shipping over £300. If you wanted permanent free shipping then simply set the free shipping module to free shipping on anything over £1.

Per Item

This here allows you to add a shipping cost by quantity of items. There is also an additional field where you can apply a handling fee should you wish.

Express, Signed, Unsigned & Next Day Delivery

These are all just modified version of the flat rate. You simple activate them and enter a separate price for each therefore giving the customer a choice at checkout for what type of shipping they would like to receive.

Shipping Based On Total Price / Weight

The shipping cost is based on the total cost or weight of items. Example: 25:8.50,50:5.50 Up to 25 charge 8.50, from 25 to 50 charge 5.50. So If I wanted to charge up to £10 for the total price of the order up to £200, it would be 200:10.

Zonal Shipping

Zonal shipping is not something you can setup, if you require this to be setup, please contact us to let us know your requirements.

You can leave the settings where it suggests tax class & shipping zone set to none by default & sort order left at 0. If you want the shipping to only apply to say Scotland, then from the shipping zone, select Scotland.
