Step 1

Create a new page and name it Gallery.

This is a novice guide for creating a very basic, but great looking gallery page. For more advanced users, their are more elaborate ways of adding galleries through the use of the “Slider” and “Thumbnail Gallery” features.

Step 2

Click on the “Add Media” button located above the content area

Step 3

On your computer, navigate to the folder containing images that you want to use for the gallery. Select the images you want by holding down Ctrl and left clicking on the desired images.

Step 4

Drag and drop the images into the WordPress media box.

The images will now be uploaded. This could take a couple of minutes depending on how many images, and how large they are.

Step 5

After the images are uploaded, click on each one and in the bottom right, change the size to “Thumbnail” You must do this for every selected image.

The currently highlighted image will have a blue border.

All images you have just uploaded will be already selected – you can identify the images by the tick on the top right corner of each one.

Step 6

Click on “Insert into page” located in the bottom right.

Step 7

The page should now look something like this screenshot.

Publish (or update) the page to set it live.

If you are publishing a new page, remember to add it to the navigation menu so it can be found!

Additional Information – The Result

This example may look a bit basic, but your gallery page should look similar to this. Each image can be clicked on to view a larger version.
