Step 1

From the dashboard, click on the ‘Media’ Button

This article only covers adding an already uploaded file. To see how to upload a file, please look at our other Media Manager guides.


Step 2

Navigate to the file that you are after and click on the title of the file.


Step 3

On the right side of the screen, there is a box named ‘File URL’ containing the http:// link to the file. Select and copy this URL.


Step 4

Navigate to the page you want to insert the file in to.


Step 5

Select the line of text that you would like to link to the file and click on the hyperlink button in the content toolbar.

Step 6

Click within the box named ‘URL’. and paste the URL into the box.


Step 7

Click on ‘Add Link’

You can also link an image to a file. It uses exactly the same method as any other hyperlink – please see our other guides on linking to images.


Step 8

Update the page using the button on the right of the screen.

After updating the page, it is worth finding the page on your website and checking the link to make sure that it is working as expected.


Additional Information – External Links

Although it is recommended to have all files that you link to uploaded to your website (as you have more control over it – it wont unexpectedly go down) you can link to a file on a different website by copying the URL of the file in the address bar, and proceed to step four of this guide.
